"As an unapologetic, African American female, local and national organizer/activist, and scholar, I possess a strong disdain for ‘plantation’ politics and systems, and those who fuel the fire with their rhetoric while most times serving intentionally as oppressive predators themselves. Those who mask themselves as gate openers, but once the mask is removed, they are no more than gate keepers sent to maintain the status quo."

My Philosophy

First, my philosophy is such. “As a child of God, I am not to live my life in an average state, average should never be my normal. If I don’t live my life in an uncommon manner, then my very existence is unnecessary (author unknown).” I am a woman whose core elements in the essence of her existence consists of truth, identity, and bringing forth a wholistic transformation to the lives of others. Therefore, what I do constitutes who I am. As an unapologetic, African American female local and national organizer/activist, scholar/doctoral candidate, consultant, and transformational agent, I possess a strong disdain for ‘plantation’ politics in systems, and those who fuel the fire with rhetoric while most times serving intentionally as oppressive predators themselves. My disdain is with those who mask themselves as gate openers, but once the mask is stripped, they are no more than gate keepers sent to intentionally maintain the plantation status quo. I am more than tired of hearing about the resiliency of Black bodies versus the Forced resiliency that they Must acquire. While learning about structures through the community work of my grandmother and consulting in the areas of transportation, education, healthcare, civic education, structural design, etc., I acquired a keen eye for recognizing and responding to the call for change and how race and institutions cross-pollinate without a cultural foundation, thereby, creating and fostering plantation mindsets.

Why Intersystemz?

For me personally, Intersystemz serves as a confirmation that some plant, some water, but God gets and will increase. As one who should have been dead several times, and had my share of mischief and poor choices, I had a family that never gave up on me which now allows me to shift any pain to purpose, to power, to (w)empowerment.

Intersystemz brings together a myriad of voices to aid in the disruption and dismantling of racist structures, institutions, policies, and ideologies in order to make change or create a forced change while recognizing that no one person can do this alone.

Last, Intersystemz is my promise kept to those of melanin in positions of change-making in academia who I refused to share any parts of me with until they and their program began to intimidate their own whiteness while proclaiming justice and examining outside spaces.

Intersystemz stands for leaving a legacy and foundation that is much better than when we entered it. One that seeks to be “not just Free but Free indeed.”

Come join me and let’s fight the enslaved interconnectionality of these systems!  Let’s move from surviving to thriving – it’s time to SOAR and maintain a mindset that screams-WE Win!

In Purpose and Solidarity- Forward Motion,

Authentically All Angeline
